This machine is a 1950 Singer Sewing Machine, I
collected this machine from Jane in Bedford. The machine hadn't been used for
several
Years and the mechanism had frozen, the power supply wasn't working and the
needle was knocking against silver plate.
This restore took about 6 weeks part time, process pictures below. Having
stripped down the electric motor and rewired
the foot pedal the machine and motor now work really well. I also treated the
body work with T Cut due to the surface scratches.
This individual machine is a Class 99K, the serial number was allocated on 5th
Jan 1950 and was one of a batch of 60'000.
